Engine
You encounter tough conditions every day, and TS-A tractor engines are up to the task. Turbocharged, six cylinder engines (four cylinder on the TS100A) provide dependable quiet power day in and day out.
Computer-designed, parent bore cylinder block has a contoured outer surface for increased strength.
Air-to-air intercooling improves performance, while a five-blade viscous fan maintains temperature, reduces noise, lowers horsepower consumption, and saves fuel.
Electronic power management (on the TS125A and TS135A only) provides a power boost of up to 25 horsepower to maintain rated PTO hp in challenging terrain or conditions, like chopping or baling extra-heavy crops, or operating with a heavy load on a hill. When the torque applied through the PTO exceeds a certain level, power management automatically increases the available engine horsepower. Then, as the need for additional power decreases, engine horsepower is reduced until the system reverts to standby mode.
The Constant Engine Speed feature on the TS125A and TS135A allows you to pre-set two engine speeds. Use one for a constant working RPM, then toggle to the lower RPM to turn at the end of the row.
Transmissions
You choose the TS-A transmission that best suits the work you do.
All transmissions offer the convenience of a dedicated, column-mounted,
left-hand shuttle lever, and all are available with creeper speeds for
low-speed applications.
12 x 12 Synchro Command™ transmission with mechanical shuttle (TS100A and TS115A only)
-
The range lever
at the far right allows you to choose one of three ranges while the
main shift lever offers four synchronized gears in each range.
- A dedicated, in-line shuttle lever
is located on the left-hand side of the steering column, freeing your right hand to control the implement or loader.
- The matching number of forward and reverse gears
leads to faster cycle times when shuttling.
24 x 24 Dual Command™ Hi-Lo transmission with power shuttle (Available on all models)
-
A clutchless power shuttle allows you to shift between forward and reverse without clutching.
- The Dual Command feature gives you double the speed choices
by allowing you to select an underdrive for each of the 12 forward and
reverse gears while on the move. This effectively changes torque by 22%
and tractor speed by approximately 18%.
- Repeater buttons in two locations
—one
set on the side of the shift lever and one set on the control console
below—allow you to powershift on-the-go without clutching Use the lower
button (tortoise) to engage the underdrive. Push the upper button
(hare) to disengage Dual Command and return to direct drive.
- Transport speed
is 19 mph for 2WD models and 25 mph for FWD models.
16x16 Electroshift™ transmission with power shuttle (TS100A and TS115A Plus only)
-
Powershift through the four gears of each range
with the touch of a button. You can also change between the first and
second range, and between the third and fourth range without clutching.
- Two buttons on the side of the transmission lever and a duplicate set under the gear display
allow you to powershift through the gears within each range. Tap the
button to move one gear at a time, or hold the button in to shift
sequentially. The single button immediately below the display allows
you make easy range changes. You need the clutch only once in 16 gears.
-
No-clutch, electro-hydraulic shuttle
is ideal for loader work and other jobs that require frequent
forward/reverse shifts. You engage it by simply moving the shuttle
lever located on the left-hand side of the steering column.
- Programmable reverse
allows you to program the reverse speed to three gears lower or higher
than your forward speed, providing they are in the same range. This is
a feature you won’t find on most other tractors.
16 x 16 Autoshift™ transmission with power shuttle and automatic and programmable up/down shifting. (TS100A Deluxe, TS115A Deluxe, TS125A and TS135A)
-
Offering the same operational convenience as the 16 x 16 Electroshift™ transmission, the 16 x 16 Autoshift™ transmission has even more time-saving features.
- Push the Autoshift button
, and the 16 x 16 Autoshift transmission does the shifting for you—both in the field and the road.
-
In the field,
the Autoshift transmission shifts as needed within the four gears of
range one or within the four gears in range two. When the load on the
engine increases, or tractor speed slows, the transmission will
automatically shift to a lower gear.
- When roading,
press the Autoshift button and the transmission will shift as needed
within ranges three or four. Press the Autoshift button twice, and you
can program the transmission to shift as needed between ranges three and four—another unique feature.
- You can program the shift point
to suit different applications and to tailor shifting to your driving
style—another feature you won’t find on most other tractors. You can
set the shift point to occur every time the engine speed increases or
decreases by a specific percent.
The electro-hydraulic power shuttle
allows you to shift from forward to reverse with the touch of your left
hand. There’s no need to let go of the steering wheel, and no need to
clutch.
An illuminated LED gear display
is located to the right of the main shift lever displays the gear
you’ve selected. If Autoshift is activated, the road range and field
range are also displayed.
A digital gear display
(provided on TS-A tractors that are equipped with electro-hydraulic
remotes, or the Terraglide™ front axle or the Custom Headland System)
shows the selected forward gear and the corresponding reverse "shuttle"
gear, the gear span for each range, and indicates when road or field
Autoshift is engaged.
Hydraulics
The responsive hydraulic power provided by TS-A tractors is the result of a high-capacity, two-pump system. All models feature a 10.5-gpm steering pump that provides flow for steering and power-shifting hydraulic needs. A second dedicated pump delivers rear remote flow to drive implements.
An open center system with a 19.8-gpm fixed displacement gear pump is provided on Standard models with the 12 x 12 transmission or on Plus models with the 24 x 24 synchronized transmission.
A closed-center load-sensing (CCLS) system delivers 26.5 gpm to the remotes on demand for Deluxe models with the 16 x 16 or 24 x 24 transmission.
Impressive three-point lift capacities allow you to use larger implements to get more work done with each pass. You get a lift capacity of 12,185 pounds with the largest model, the TS135A, 9,620 pounds for other TS-A models with electronic draft control, and 9,285 pounds for models with mechanical draft control.
Two deluxe remote valves with quick couplers are standard from the factory, with third and fourth valves optional.
Electro-hydraulic remote control valves are available on Deluxe cab models with the 16 x 16 transmission. You can control the flow rate and timing of these valves from the cab and keep informed of their status using the visual display and enhanced monitor.
A Category II, three-point hitch with mechanical draft control and lower link sensing is standard equipment for the TS100A, TS115A and TS125A. These tractors also feature a convenient quick raise and lower switch that returns implements to their pre-set depth.
A Category II/IIN three-point hitch with electronic draft control is standard on the TS135A, and all Deluxe cab models. Once set, the hydraulic system automatically adjusts implement depth to maintain an even pull on the tractor and reduce wheel slip to a minimum. Using postition control you get accurate control of implements, such as spryaers, rakes and mowers that operate above the ground. Once implement height has been set, the system maintains the selected position.
Controls for electronic draft control are located conveniently on the right-hand armrest console, with additional hydraulic controls located under the armrest. (Deluxe cab models only)
Dynamic Ride Control is standard equipment on electronic draft control hitches, and takes the bounce out of three point-mounted implements during transport.
Rocker switches on the rear fenders (Deluxe cab tractors only) allow you to raise and lower the three-point hitch for easy implement attachment.
A rear 540/1000 RPM PTO is standard equipment. It has a single reversible shaft and includes soft start and coast down features.
Axle
Choose the TS-A Series axle that allows you to handle your terrain, conditions and implements most effectively. Choose 2WD, FWD or one of two additional FWD axle options available on Deluxe model--the SuperSteer FWD axle or the Terraglide suspended FWD axle.
Heavy-duty wet plate front and rear differential locks (all FWD axles) allow you to lock all four wheels together in slippery conditions. 2WD tractors have differential lock in the rear axle only.
The TerraLock electronic traction system is standard on all TS-A Deluxe FWD tractors. This gives you the convenience of fully automatic FWD and differential lock engagement. You get full drive capability through all four wheels for optimum traction.
SuperSteer FWD Axle (not available on tractors equipped with the Terraglide axle)
-
An unmatched 65° turn angle makes maneuvering in tight quarters easy, and saves you time and travel distance when making headland turns.
-
A heavy-duty ball joint attaches the SuperSteer axle to the tractor. When the tractor turns, the whole axle pivots, allowing the outside wheel to move in front of the nose of the tractor to provide more tire clearance and sharper turning angle.
Terraglide Suspended FWD Axle (not available on tractors equipped with the SuperSteer axle)
- The TerraGlide axle travels up to 4 inches
to keep the front tires on the ground even at high speeds, providing not only an ultra-smooth ride, but also delivering maximum traction, stability and control.
Terraglide is a simple, affordable design--unlike complicated systems found on other tractors.
Terraglide is automatically activated at speeds over 0.9 mph, but can be locked out if not required. That's a feature you won't find on other systems.
The suspended cab and TerraLock are standard equipment with TerraGlide tractors.
Custom Headland System
The TS-A Custom Headland System (CHS) takes the hassle and fatigue out of headland turns by memorizing and replaying your actions. With the push of the CHS button at the end of a row, you can throttle back, downshift, and raise the implement. You can make your turn, then press the same button for an opposite sequence of actions when you're ready to re-enter the row. This system is optional on Deluxe TS-A cab tractors with a 16 x 16 transmission.
Up to 28 steps or functions can be memorized by the Custom Headland System, either as one continuous program, or as two individual programs--one for when you reach the end of the row, and a second for when you re-enter a row.
Actions that can be programmed include:
- Increase/decrease engine speed
- Change gear selection
- Raise/lower the three-point hitch
- Control electro-hydraulic remotes (if so equipped)
Field Autoshift mode or Constant Engine Speed Control are automatically disengaged and re-activated by the CHS if you happen to be using these features.
Symbols appear in the transmission display to let you know which actions are being recorded or replayed. Up to seven symbols may be displayed at one time.
Less experienced drivers gain the same efficiency as your best ones when you have a skilled driver program the headland turn sequences.
Cab
When you're ready to feel completely at ease and to be in total control at the same time--the TS-A Horizon cab is the place to be. Panoramic views and natural controls give you an entirely new prespective on your work.
Front and rear windshield wiper/washers are standard equipment.
The expansive windshield and two wide, full-glass doors provide outstanding visibility. Sweeping views make it easier to stay fresh all day long.
A unique high-visibility panel on the cab roof with built-in sunshade affords you a view above--great for seeing the bucket during loader work. The panel can be opened for natural circulation.
A deluxe air suspension seat adjusts in a multitude of ways to assure your absolute comfort. Features include built-in lumbar support, tilting back rest, swivel, adjustable armrests and adjustable vibration dampening.
An optional instructor's seat is available and replaces the standard storage box.
A cup holder and interior storage are provided to your left. An optional storage box can be added behind the instructor's seat or standard equipment box.
Heat and air conditioning controls are located conveniently on the rear cab pillar to your left.
.
The halogen light package is far superior to what you'll find on other tractors in this class. Eight lights to the front and four to the rear provide you with plenty of light to work at night.
Optional Comfort Ride cab suspension (available on Deluxe models, standard on models with the Terraglide axle) provides a smooth, even ride over rough ground or bumpy access roads. The system uses front-mounted "donuts" that minimize the right-to-left movement of the cab, while two rear-mounted shock absorbers absorb the up-and-down movement of the cab.
Enhanced performance monitor (standard on 16 x 16 Deluxe cab tractors and optional on Deluxe 24 x 24 cab tractors) allows you to track and program a variety of functions including linkage height, PTO speed, hours, distance traveled and electronic remote valve status. It also includes a maintenance reminder and an odometer.
Optional radar (available on cab tractors equipped with electronic draft control) monitors wheel slip and allows you to receive accurate reports of total area worked and area-covered-per-hour forecasts.
Flat Deck
You'll work efficiently and comfortably from the spacious TS-A iso-mounted flat deck. Your view to the work around you is excellent and controls are placed in a natural position for easy reach. (Flat deck is not available for the TS135A. The TS135A comes standard with a cab.)
Large, wide steps and full-length support handles make it easy to step aboard.
Suspended floor pedals provide an uncluttered path on and off.
Throttle and transmission controls are placed in a natural position on the right-hand console, and always come easily to hand. Hitch controls with electronic draft control are on the right-hand armrest for fingertip control.
The deluxe seat with mechanical suspension swivels and adjusts to fit you perfectly.
The steering wheel tilts and telescopes to a position that's most comfortable for you.
Instrumentation is located directly in front of you, providing information at a glance.
Analog and digital instrumentation includes an hour meter, tachometer, and engine temperature and fuel gauges. LCD displays report ground speed, time, PTO speed, three-point position and wheel slip. A series of 21 indicators and warning lights keep you informed.
.
