Kubota M8540/M9540

Features

CAB CORNER EXHAUST PIPE

The exhaust pipe on the M40-Series cab models has been repositioned along the right side corner post, this provides the operator with a clear and unobstructed field of view.

Kubota

ARCHED BEAM ROOF LINE

The arched beam in the front of the cab and relocated A/C components allowed M Series designers to extend the height of the roof. This feature not only increases headroom, it also increases overall visibility, especially while using the loader, as the bucket can be easily seen at maximum height in the power hold position.

Kubota

SLIDE-OUT AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSER

Serviceability was first and foremost in this new design. The air conditioner condenser slides out for easy access, maintenance, and cleaning. The hydraulic cooler and radiator are exposed for easy cleaning too.

Kubota

4 WD FRONT AXLE

The bevel-gear front axle provides the M40-Series with better all-around maneuverability, especially for jobs in tight spaces. The greater front-axle oscillating angle also offers increased lateral operation on uneven terrain. The increased turning angle of 55 degrees ensures the tightest turn possible in a 4WD tractor.

Kubota

(E-CDIS) DIRECT INJECTION ENGINE

Kubota's revolutionary new center-direct injection system (E-CDIS) engines offer more durability, power and fuel efficiency. These technologically advanced engines also comply with EPA Tier II Emissions Standards.

Kubota

F8/R8 TRANSMISSION (F12/R12 TRANSMISSION OPTION)

Synchronized four speeds of the main shift and high/low range supply tractors with 8 Forward and 8 Reverse speeds. The main shift allows you to shift 'on the fly' making operation smooth. Tailor this transmission to your needs by choosing from a hydraulic or synchronized shuttle transmission.

For heavy-duty work the hydraulic-shuttle models of the M8540 and M9540 can be equipped with an F12/R12 transmission. This transmission features six speeds of the main shift and a high/low range giving it a total of 12 Forward and 12 Reverse speeds.
Kubota

FRONT WIPER

To increase visibility on rainy days and operator safety a pantograph style front wiper clears a wider coverage area.

Kubota

DIGITAL PANEL

A new digital LED panel makes viewing vital functions of your M-Series tractor clear and easy. View travel speed, PTO revolution and hour meter information digitally. Analog indicators include a large tachometer, temperature gauge and fuel gauge. A battery warning light has also been added to the M-Series to prevent surprise battery failures.

NEW HOOD DESIGN

The sleek new slanted steel hood design looks great, but there's far more to it than meets the eye. It offers greater visibility over the hood of the tractor thereby increasing your field of view especially during loader operation. This hood easily opens to provide convenient maintenance of the engine, AC condenser, radiator and air filter.

Kubota

WRAP AROUND GRILL

By allowing a high volume of air to flow in, the engine stays cooler. At the same time, a drop in the airflow velocity lowers the potential for debris being pulled into the grill obstructing the A/C condenser and radiator. Keeping the system cleaner up front allows prolonged operation.

Kubota

TRANSMISSION PARKING LOCK

An easy-to-operate transmission parking lock, located beside the main shift, is now independent from the main brakes. This lock is extremely durable and reliable. A key factor in its design is its ability to be unlocked easily, even when parked on uneven terrain.

Kubota

ULTRA GRAND CAB

The Ultra Grand Cab has been completely redesigned. Rounded glass and the arched beam roofline on the cab gives the operator more room and greater visibility. The height of the cab offers more headroom, and key operational levers and switches have been moved to the right side console for easier access. For greater visibility, the exhaust pipe has been relocated and the windshield now boasts a pantograph wiper.

Kubota

SHUTTLE SHIFT LEVER

The Synchro-Shuttle provides easy direction changes, simply clutch, shift and go - coming to a complete stop is not necessary. General tractor productivity is increased over transmissions without equal number of speeds. Exemplifying shuttle shift operation is the optional Hydraulic Shuttle on all 4-wheel drive models. Designed specifically for loader applications, this tough clutch system is just what the loader ordered! The hydraulic shuttle also includes a wet main clutch for long life. Smooth inching and shuttle movements are special features you'll appreciate

Kubota

HEADLIGHTS

The M40-Series now comes with halogen headlights and corner lamps. These lights are not only more efficient; they also provide more illumination from dusk-to-dawn expanding your work hours.

OPERATOR'S PLATFORM

Full-Flat Deck (Cab model)

When operating a tractor, space comes at a premium. The M-Series flat deck neatly repositions most of the operational levers, including main shift and range lever, auxiliary control lever, hand-throttle, position draft control lever and PTO clutch lever, to the right of the seat. This offers the operator more legroom and far more comfort.

HYDROSTATIC POWER STEERING WITH TILT WHEEL

Improved Steering Wheel & Column Design - The tilt steering column of the new M-Series boasts a couple new features. Designed to accommodate operators of many different sizes, the wheel and shuttle lever tilt together. To complement this feature, an easy-to-use foot pedal has also been added.

Kubota

ROUNDED GLASS

We’ve rounded the cab glass of the new Ultra Grand Cab therefore increasing the length of the cab by 2 inches and the width by 6.3 inches. This change provides the operator with more visibility and a more spacious feel, ideal for long days in the field. Furthermore, we’ve increased the glass coverage area on the cab door, which makes it easier to get in and out of the cab, by moving the side post rearward to create a wider opening.

Kubota

DELUXE SEAT

Reclining, weight-adjusted seats are standard equipment on all M-Series models. These comfortable seats were specifically designed to absorb shock, significantly reducing operator fatigue. We’ve also added a convenient manual holder in the seat back on ROPS models.

Kubota

WIDE FENDERS

Wider and rounded fenders protect the operator from mud splashes. ROPS models are equipped with large handles on both sides for easy mounting and dismounting.

Kubota

HEATER/AIR CONDITIONER SYSTEM

The heating and cooling main unit is located under the seat. The overall air circulation in the cab has been optimized by the cab’s rounded glass as well as by placing the air outlets in the dash tower to keep you cooler on hot summer days and warmer on cold mornings, for year around environment control.

Kubota

7-PIN TRAILER COUPLER

The 7-pin trailer coupler is standard; it will connect directly to 7-pin couplers for taillights, brake lights, and turn signals.

Kubota

INDEPENDENT HYDRAULIC PTO

Pulling, lifting, cutting or baling; the standard 540 rpm hydraulic independent PTO (1000 rpm is optional on 8540/M9540) of the Kubota M40-Series tractors makes your toughest work easier. Self modulating engagement with a light touch means implements like a rear cutter engage smoothly and the PTO brake engages when the clutch is shut off and securely holds the PTO shaft. The independent PTO clutch hydraulically engages and disengages on the go, there is NO DRY CLUTCH DISK. This means the efficiency of PTO-driven implements like hay equipment, spreaders, or sprayers are optimized.

Kubota

CATEGORY II 3-POINT HITCH WITH TELESCOPIC LOWER LINKS 3-Point Hitch:

The Category II 3-point hitch provides fast and simple attachment of rear mounted implements. The standard capacity of the M8540 and M9540 is 4630 lbs (2100kg), with an option of 7055 lbs (3200kg).

Lift Rods With Float Positions: The floating lift rods are standard on both sides giving the M8540 and M9540 M-Series tractors a smoother ride and enhanced traction while using the 3- point hitch, especially on uneven terrain.

Telescopic Lower Link Ends: The standard telescopic lower link ends further facilitate implement attachment by extending in and out of the hitch arm.

High Lift Capacity: Large diameter cylinders boost lifting power by as much as 50% - perfect for large implements and larger farm uses. They are optional on all M8540 and M9540 models, however they are standard on HD12/HDC12 12-speed models.
