Pickup

New Holland If you grew it and cut it, a New Holland Super Sweep™ pickup will find it. Here's why:

Closely Spaced Tines pick up all of the windroweven the short, fine hay other pickups miss.

Ample Working Width (78.1 to 94.5 inches depending on model) means you won't miss the edges of the widest swaths and windrows.

Multi-position Sliding Collars allow you to easily change pickup height and flotation to match your needs.

Curved Tine Guards and the Plate-type Windguard help keep crop moving smoothly.

Two Pneumatic Gauge Wheels allow you to sweep uneven fields clean at high speed.

Slip Clutch and Overrunning Clutch protect the pickup from overload.

Crop Cutter™ Feeding System

New Holland

You can equip your BB-A baler with one of two optional New Holland Crop Cutter™ feeding systems-the rotor cutter feeding system or a packer-cutter feeding system. Both systems slice crop as it's fed into the baler, producing a shorter particle length which allows crop to be packed more tightly into the bale. More crop per bale means denser, heavier bales and fewer bales to handle.

The smaller particle length of CropCutter bales also make them easier for livestock to eat and digest-leading to increased milk production and increased weight gain. CropCutter bales are also easier for you to break apart and feed, and easier to mix as part of a Total Mixed Ration system.

Straw Bales are easier to spread for bedding and provide improved absorbency.

Better Fermentation of silage bales results from the smaller particle length. The consistent short cut allows for maximum crop compaction. Less air is permitted in the bale, boosting anaerobic bacteria and good fermentation.

A Special Fill-low Floor on CropCutter models features plastic floor extension strips to reduce friction.

Rotor Cutter® Feeding System
(Available on BB940A and BB960A)

A Massive "W" Pattern Rotor moves crop from the pickup and through a bank of knives into the precompression chamber.

The Rotor Blades on the new "W"-line pattern rotor are positioned so that the cutting force is divided equally over both rotor halves to improve cutting efficiency and reduce the power required. This design also distributes the cut crop more evenly in the precompression chamber.

A Maximum of 33 Knives on the BB960A and 23 knives on the BB940A deliver a theoretical cut length of 1.5 inches for excellent silage compaction.

New Holland Rotor Cutter Knives are held in a knife drawer that slides out the left-hand side of the baler, allowing you to inspect, sharpen or change the number of knives.

Change From Cut to Uncut Bales with the tractor hydraulic system right from the tractor seat.

New Holland

Packer Cutter System
(BB940A only)

Three Packer Forks with a Total of Six Heavy-duty Double Packer Tines feed crop into the precompression chamber through a set of serrated knives.

Use Two or Up to Six Knives to achieve a crop length from 4.5 to 10.5 inches.

Each Knife is Individually Spring-loaded so it can move out of the way when it encounters an obstacle.

The Knives Can be Moved in and Out of Cutting Position hydraulically from your tractor seat.

Knife Position is monitored by the InfoView® monitor.

Knotters

New Holland

With the double-knot system, twine is fed across both the top and bottom of the bale. It doesn't have to slide between the bales in the chamber, which in difficult conditions, can lead to twine being pulled out of the twine holder. Six double knotters on the BB960A and four on the BB940A are driven by a fully enclosed gearbox to ensure positive tying and a long working life.

The Outside Twine is Placed Closer to the Edge with the New Holland system-over an inch closer than competitive brand balers-for better bale appearance and stacking.

A Trip Arm engages the knotter clutch when the bale reaches the length you have set. Needles bring the lower twine up to the knotter and the tying process begins.

New Holland Knotter Fans-two on the BB940A and three on the BB960A-provide a blast of air to keep the tying area clear of dust, chaff and twine tails which helps prevent misties.

Two Knots are tied consecutively. The first knot completes the finished bale and the second knot ties together the upper and lower twines for the start of the next bale.

Twine Boxes have been extended for increased twine ball capacity-15 balls on each side of the baler.

Service

New Holland

Invest in a BB-A Series baler and you'll spend more productive time in the field since maintenance is designed to be fast and easy. Large "gull-wing" side shields lift up and are supported by gas struts to provide total access to all maintenance areas.

The Main Knotter and Stuffer Gearboxes are sealed and feature sight glasses for easy checking of oil levels. The Density System Hydraulic Oil Tank also has a sight glass.

New Holland New Automatic Chain Oiling System uses a large five-liter reservoir for fewer fill-ups. You set the oil volume with the InfoView® monitor. Each of the chains used to drive the feeder, rotor cutter and pickup components is oiled by a wire brush applicator, fed by a small line.

Five Central Grease Blocks assure quick and reliable greasing of most points requiring daily attention, including the knotters.

New Holland

Standard Automatic Greasing System supplies a metered amount of grease from a master dispenser to the blocks at an interval you set on the InfoView monitor.

Replaceable Hitch Wear Plate is ideal for high-use operations.

A Choice of Hitch Balls allows you to easily use the baler with different tractors.

New Holland Two Large Storage Containers-one of each side of the baler-are sealed from dust and can be locked and provide convenient storage of twine and tools.

Heavy-duty Rear Bumper Bar prevents accidental baler damage.

Gas Struts assist with the folding of the bale chute. The roller bale chute folds hydraulically for secure transport.

New Holland Knotter Access Ladder provides convenient route for servicing

Precompression System

New Holland

The New Holland precompression system charges the bale chamber only when the feeding chamber is full. This perfect filling of the bale chamber results in dense, well-shaped bales that are consistent in length and have an equal number of "slices" or "flakes."

The Packer or Rotor continuously moves crop from the pickup to a crescent-shaped precompression chamber.

Stuffer Forks are engaged when a slice reaches the preset pressure, sweeping equal flakes of crop into the bale chamber to ensure well-filled bale shoulders and consistent bale density.

Shuttle Feeder is Totally Cam-controlled for smooth, incredibly quiet operation. It assures positive delivery of each slice-even in high moisture crop.

The Plunger operates at 42 strokes per minute to push crop down the bale chamber and compress it into a bale.

Plunger Rails are located for fast, accurate and simple adjustment, and smoother bale filling.

Bale Length Metering Wheel is located in the center and is protected from twine damage.

New Holland A Spring-loaded Handle allows you to adjust- without tools-bale shape and density by changing the amount of hay compressed into each slice delivered to the bale chamber.

InfoView

New Holland

The InfoView® baler control system is the most comprehensive monitoring system in the industry. Its easy-to-use format helps all operators. You get information with the touch of a button, and the system automatically maintains bale density regardless of moisture and crop conditions.

InfoView monitors the complete bale making process and gives you complete control over baler functions. You can:

  • adjust the density setting
  • monitor the number of flakes per bale
  • monitor knotter performance
  • engage the knotter fans
  • engage the automatic greasing system
  • engage the automatic oiling system
  • monitor when a bale is dropped (roller chute only)
  • access service history
  • access the time, dates and bale counts
  • monitor baler RPM
  • monitor daily bale count—cut and uncut
  • program customer name
  • log customer name and bale count for up to ten customers
  • troubleshoot baler electronics
  • adjust bale density from automatic to manual
  • signals operator of baler over-speed

A Load Sensor Pin and Linkage on top of the main gearbox monitors plunger load. When plunger load changes due to windrow size or crop moisture, the InfoView system automatically adjusts pressure exerted on the top and sides of each bale to maintain uniform density, shape and weight.

A Self-contained Hydraulic System supplies oil to two hydraulic cylinders at the back of the baler, and these apply pressure to three moveable rails on the top and both sides of the bale case.

A Relative Load Scale From Zero to 100 allows you to select bale density, with 100 corresponding to the maximum load limit determined by design.

"+" and "-" Keys on the InfoView monitor allow you to adjust density pressure.

A Manual Mode is available to allow you to operate the baler without the InfoView system if needed.

Knotter Performance is reported on the InfoView system. You are alerted when a knotter cycle starts, and sensors register the movement of each individual twine bale to provide you with earliest possible warning of a mistie.

Self-diagnostic Software helps InfoView constantly scan the system to assure proper operation and warn you of any problems.

Alphanumeric Keypad Entry allows you to track and remember details for each field or customer.
