New Holland 1475 Haybine® Mower-Conditioners

Overview

New Holland

Capacity and flexibility combined

Put a 1475 Haybine® mower-conditioner to work in your hay fields and you get the capacity of a self-propelled windrower in a highly-maneuverable pivot-tongue package. Easy adjustments give you plenty of flexibility to adapt the 1475 to different crops and conditions.

At the heart of the 1475 is a New Holland HS Series Haybine® sickle header. These are the same high-capacity headers used on New Holland self-propelled windrowers. Choose a 14-, 16- or 18-foot cut. The 18-foot width gives you 12% more capacity than most mower-conditioners on the market, and even more than some self-propelled windrowers.

A high-capacity hydrostatic pump connects to your tractor PTO to power the sickles and conditioning rolls.

25-inch header lift height is the best available and makes clearing tall windrows or obstacles easy.

The pivot-tongue design gives you self-propelled maneuverability. You can mow on either side of the tractor, make square corners, open fields easily, and center the 1475 directly behind the tractor for easy transport.

The auto-engaging locks for the tongue and header save you time when preparing for transport. Just flip the over-center tongue spring latch and header locks, and fully raise the header hydraulically and center it behind the tractor. The tongue lock and header locks engage automatically, so there’s no need to get off the tractor a second time.

A standard toolbox gives you convenient storage space for tools or spare parts.

A storage location for two complete knife assemblies is provided in the header frame.

HS Series Haybine® sickle headers

No matter which size HS Series Haybine® sickle header suits your needs—14-, 16- or 18-foot—you get clean cutting, smooth crop flow and fast crop drydown. And, you can adjust both the cutting and conditioning performance of these headers to match your needs.

An 1810-spm sickle speed and full three-inch stroke provides smooth, fast cutting performance.

Dual, counter-stroking sickles provide smooth cutting and less vibration in tough conditions.

Heavy-duty, timed wobble drive provides reliable trouble-free operation.

Over-serrated, bolt-on knife sections provide long cutting life and are easy to replace when necessary.

Build custom-tailored windrows from high-standing, fluffy, 38-inch windrows to wide 96-inch swaths, or anything in between using a combination of three no-tools adjustments:

  • swath gate
  • windrow shield
  • fluffing baffle.

The five-bat reel sweeps the crop gently and evenly to the auger. Position, cam angle and speed are adjustable to suit your conditions.

The unique, floating, 20-inch auger swallows the heaviest crop and delivers it smoothly to the conditioning rolls. Should a large foreign object be pulled into the header, an auger slip-clutch protects the auger and conditioning rolls from damage.

An adjustable floor shield between the auger and conditioning rolls can be set wide to allow dirt, stones or other objects to fall out, minimizing contamination of the crop and potential damage to the auger and conditioning rolls. Or set it to a narrow position to make sure short-stemmed or light crops are delivered into the windrow or swath.

Proven New Holland 102-inch, chevron-design, intermeshing rubber rolls condition crop thoroughly for fast drydown in a wide variety of crops and conditions.

Two other conditioning systems are available for more specialized applications:

  • Factory-or dealer-installed, high-contact, urethane chevron rolls provide intensive conditioning/crushing for fast drydown that is best suited for alfalfa harvest in low humidity conditions.
  • Dealer-installed slatted steel rolls are best suited for abrasive conditions especially in cane-type crops.

The unique torsion-bar roll-pressure system maintains near constant pressure for consistent conditioning. The system automatically releases roll pressure to clear slugs of material without plugging and without stopping. There’s no need to stop and raise the header to “power out” the plug like some competitive models.

No-tools, infinite roll-pressure adjustment makes it easy to get the exact amount of conditioning needed for your crops and conditions. A simple turn of a crank makes the adjustment.

An easy-to-use adjustment tool is provided to set the proper roll gap, which controls conditioning intensity and the resulting drydown performance.

Standard, hydraulic-tilt header adjustment allows you to easily change cutterbar guard angle on-the-go—from 12 degrees below horizontal to a six-degree cutting angle, which is ideal if you work in changing field conditions.

Four adjustable skid shoes allow you to easily change cutting height, and also serve as a wear surface that can be replaced if necessary.
